glimmers of hope and joy. I hope you Enjoy this episode. Let's get straight to it. Big mistake. Big. Huge. I don't drink,

-:

but that doesn't mean I don't make mistakes. Last week, I received an email. It was out a commissioned piece of press for

-:

the mainstream media. I was excited. Getting my name and business into this publication would have been fabulous exposure.

-:

Someone I really love and admire had recommended me for the piece. I had an email conversation back and forth with the journalist

-:

just before we were booking my interview. As we were getting round to booking the interview, she asked me a particular question,

-:

which I answered. She then messaged straight back to say, sorry. I wasn't going to be a suitable fit for the piece after all,

-:

and they were going to find somebody else. I was a bit naffed off. I knew the answer I had given to her last question hadn't

-:

been what she'd expected. I spent the afternoon feeling a bit tetchy, a bit gnarkey, but I sent a polite and gracious response

-:

to her. Of course I did. That evening, I opened up the email trail Again, I don't really know why, but I just did, and I read

-:

back through it. I realized that in the response I had sent her before our conversation ended, I had made a massive error,

-:

a spelling take. The answer I had given to her question had been 500 when I meant type 5,000. It just missed off a 0. In the

-:

context of what we were talking about, This made a huge difference. Whoops. No wonder. 500 was not enough, and 5000 absolutely

-:

would have been. No wonder she'd stopped our conversation. It wasn't about her. It was absolutely about me. I sent a quick

-:

email back explaining my previous reply had been an error. I suspected they would have commissioned someone else by then,

-:

and indeed they had, but she and I had a light hearted back and forth about how easy It was to make mistakes. Oh, I was cross

-:

with myself for all of about 5 minutes. That was clearly not my ship, not my opportunity. I've made a note for my future self

-:

to to check, double check, maybe even triple check responses to questions like that one. I'm chalking this up to experience

-:

big bold experience. We all make mistakes. Some of them are tiny, some of them are bigger. Big mistake. Big, huge, or Maybe

-:

it just wasn't. Who knows? Thank you for listening in today. Come back again next week. I'd massively appreciate it if You

-:

could subscribe, rate, and review the podcast. Do you know? It's on YouTube now. Maybe give it a look there. Check out the

About the Podcast

Drink Less; Live Better
Drinking Less isn't stressful, lonely or boring - let me show you the ways to relax, connect and have fun without alcohol in your life
THIS is the magic place where doubt, hope and action meet!

Let's find JOY and COLOUR on the other side of alcohol!

We don't have to hit rock bottom, we're allowed to want something different and we CAN choose to improve our lives from this point onwards.

Sarah was 40 and reconsidering her relationship with alcohol.

She was tired and overwhelmed; she'd got a lot on her mind and a glass of wine or a G and T at the end of the day seemed like a treat or escape but... deep down she knew she wasn't doing herself any favours with this habit.

Are you thinking about drinking less? Sarah brings you tips, advice, motivation and believes that the changes we bring into our lives when we choose to be alcohol free are worth celebrating and shouting about (she also believes in YOU)!

Sarah Williamson retired from drinking alcohol in 2019 and now uses her extensive coaching and mentoring experience to help and support others to do the same!
