-:

This is the podcast that helps you to see that drinking less doesn't need to be stressful, lonely, or boring.

-:

I'm your host, Sarah Williamson, and I decided to have a year alcohol free as a little life experiment and haven't looked back.

-:

With my experience in training, I now help other people with their alcohol free or drink less adventures.

-:

You can find out more and sign up to my 5 day drink less challenge at drink less, live better.com.

I'm here to tell you that you can relax, connect, and have fun without alcohol in your life.

-:

Join me here each week to find out how. Forever.

-:

Forever is a big concept, isn't it? It's a long time.

-:

It's from now until the very end and then that's it.

-:

If you're going to commit to evering something that's going to be a pretty big deal.

-:

Some would say only 3 things continue forever: faith, hope and love and you've probably been told the greatest of these is love. That might be true.

-:

Is there anything that lasts longer than forever?

-:

Well the definition of 'without ever ending' probably means that it is completely eternal.

-:

Lewis Carroll's White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland has a different view.

-:

Alice asks him, how long is forever?' The rabbit replies, sometimes just one second, and I think that's a great response.

-:

Do we have to be sober or alcohol free forever?

-:

No, not if it then makes it hard to even begin or to last just this week.

-:

If forever is too high a bar then please, please let's lower the bar.

-:

When we commit to something forever it's usually out of massive faith, hope and love, and I'm not entirely sure that choosing

-:

to be alcohol free or to stop drinking is always done out of faith, hope or love in the first place.

-:

I know that my choice felt like it has been made out of a choice for better physical and emotional well-being. 3 and a bit

-:

years down the line I'd happily tell you there was self love, blind faith and a whole load of hope tied up in that decision,

-:

but I couldn't have said that right at the beginning.

-:

I chose a 1 year experiment in the first place.

-:

I didn't want to say I was never drinking again or I was done forever because that felt too uncomfortable, and I wanted my

-:

choice to be as frictionless as possible.

-:

I also didn't want to start my experiment saying I was going to go one day at a time because then that felt like I'd have

-:

to make a decision every single day, and I didn't want to do that either.

-:

All of this is just to ask you what feels good?

-:

Does the concept of forever feel expensive and safe? Does it fit with your values?

-:

Are you someone who faithfully keeps promises to themselves no matter what?

-:

Do the ideas of self love, blind faith, and hope fuel you?

-:

If they do, then go for it.

-:

Use the word forever, freely and liberally. I am never drinking again. I am done with alcohol forever.

-:

I am alcohol free now for the rest of my life.

-:

This sober lifestyle is my forever choice.

-:

Embrace truly the wording that feels good to you.

-:

And if forever feels a bit scary at the moment that's okay too. Use what fits now.

-:

You can always change your words again at a later date.

-:

My original goal was 1 year alcohol free and then 500 days then 2 years then 1000 days then 3 years and all sorts of random

-:

targets in between, like double digit zeros or 3 years, 3 months, 3 days, or whatever else looked nice.

-:

My new goal will probably be 4 years, I guess.

-:

Forever, I may well be able to say it freely at some point in the future.

-:

It is true that I cannot think of one single good reason why I'd ever have a drink again.

-:

Please check out the show notes on this or any other podcast episode.

-:

About the Podcast

Drink Less; Live Better
Drinking Less isn't stressful, lonely or boring - let me show you the ways to relax, connect and have fun without alcohol in your life
THIS is the magic place where doubt, hope and action meet!

Let's find JOY and COLOUR on the other side of alcohol!

We don't have to hit rock bottom, we're allowed to want something different and we CAN choose to improve our lives from this point onwards.

Sarah was 40 and reconsidering her relationship with alcohol.

She was tired and overwhelmed; she'd got a lot on her mind and a glass of wine or a G and T at the end of the day seemed like a treat or escape but... deep down she knew she wasn't doing herself any favours with this habit.

Are you thinking about drinking less? Sarah brings you tips, advice, motivation and believes that the changes we bring into our lives when we choose to be alcohol free are worth celebrating and shouting about (she also believes in YOU)!

Sarah Williamson retired from drinking alcohol in 2019 and now uses her extensive coaching and mentoring experience to help and support others to do the same!
